1. Who we are
ESE Legal Ghana ("ESE", "we", "us") operates the website at eseghlaw.com and the related services described in our Terms of Service. We are a Ghana-incorporated legal-technology platform.
2. What we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone number, role (citizen, lawyer, admin), password hash, and Ghana Bar Association number for verified lawyers.
- Usage data — AI triage queries, research queries, document analysis submissions, documents you draft and store, and counters that enforce per-plan usage limits.
- Payment data — Paystack customer code, transaction references, and mobile-money payout details for lawyers. We never store card numbers, CVV, or PINs. Card data lives only with Paystack.
- Communication data — direct messages between citizens and lawyers, support tickets, and email correspondence.
- Technical data — IP address, browser user-agent, request timestamps, and audit-log entries on state-changing actions.
3. How we use it
- Deliver the services you signed up for (AI triage, document analysis, lawyer marketplace, etc.).
- Enforce subscription limits and feature gates.
- Process payments through Paystack and release marketplace escrow to lawyers.
- Send transactional email (account confirmation, password reset, payment receipts, booking notifications) via Resend.
- Prevent abuse, detect fraud, and respond to lawful requests.
4. Who we share it with
We share only what each processor needs to do its job:
- Paystack — name, email, phone, transaction amount, and mobile-money payout details. Subject to Paystack's privacy policy.
- Resend — your email address and the contents of transactional emails sent to you.
- LLM provider (DashScope/Qwen) — the text content of AI triage and research queries. We never include personally-identifying account fields in prompts unless you put them there yourself.
- Lawyers you book or message — your name, contact preference, and the issue summary you provided.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
5. Where we store it
Account and case data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. Uploaded documents are stored in object storage. We retain data for as long as your account is active, plus up to 7 years afterward for financial and legal-compliance purposes.
6. Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent for processing. Email privacy@eseghlaw.com and we will respond within 30 days.
